This site uses hotlink protection to minimize bandwidth theft. Hotlink protection uses HTTP refer headers to determine whether an image, script, style, or flash animation should be served to the requesting page. Refer headers are sometimes blocked by firewalls, privacy guards and other security software.

If you are unable to view advanced elements of this site, try disabling your security software and reloading the page. If the display returns to normal, then your software is blocking refer headers. You'll need to either configure your software to allow refers on all sites or create a rule to allow refers on only this site.

Note that security software won't always have an option that says "HTTP refer headers." There are as many names for this setting as there are programs that feature it. For example, my Norton Personal Firewall calls that option "Information about visited sites." Consult your software's help files and documentation or the manufacturer's website for more details about your specific program.

If you can see images, scripts and flash animations, but not styles, then you may need to reset your stylesheet preference. This site uses a script to allow visitors to select a page style and then sets a cookie to remember the choice. If you visited this site when I was hosting a Blogger blog then your cookie probably remembers the page style for the Blogger system. This blog now uses WordPress so that Blogger setting no longer applies.

To remedy this, look for the "Skin this blog" menu in the sidebar and respecify your preference. The cookie that stores your choice will be refreshed and subsequent visits should load your chosen style automatically.
