V for Vendetta

Have you seen any of the previews for the upcoming movie V for Vendetta? Everything I've seen about it so far makes a very big deal out of the tag line "From the creators of the Matrix trilogy." V is produced by Joel Silver, sreeenwritten by the Wachowski brothers and directed by James McTeigue, first assistant director to the Wachowskis for the Matrix trilogy.

Note the word "screenwritten." That's not the same as "created" or even just "written." The Wachowskis didn't create this story, they adapted it. The original V for Vendetta is a graphic novel written by Alan Moore and published in the mid-80s. Moore's original is a brilliant story of a revolutionary anti-hero in a post-apocalyptic, dystopian future.

There's no mention of Alan Moore in any of the commercials or promotional material.
