Alton Brown Brined Turkey Recipe

Ingredients:

 Frozen Turkey (Frozen)
For Brine
 Salt (1 Cup)
 Brown Sugar (1/2 Cup)
 Black Pepper (1 tablespoon)
 Berries (1.5 Teaspoon)
 Iced Water (1 gallon)
 Vegetable Stock
Other Aromatics
 Cinnamon (1 Stick)
 Water (1 Cup)
 Sliced Onion (1/2)
 Rosemary (4)
 Sage (6 Leaves)
 Apple (1)

Directions:

Step1: Get the Brine

Place the turkey at 38 degrees or less

Then Mix all the ingredients of brine like; Salt, Vegetable stock, Black Pepper, Berries, and Brown Sugar

Place all these mixed ingredients over medium heat

Stir finely, after boiling the mixture, remove from heat

Then Cool the brine at room temperature

Then mix iced water in the brine

After mixing iced water in the brine, put the turkey in the mixture. Place the thawed turkey in such a way that breast of turkey fits downward. Moreover, You should check that if the turkey is fully immersed in the brine

Cover the stockpot and place it in a refrigerator for 16 hours

Step 2: Roasting Directions

After 16 hours, remove the turkey from the brine

And wash the turkey with cold water

Dry the turkey with a towel

Now place the turkey in an oven

Bake at 500 degrees for 30 minutes
